Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 April 2026 · Draft
The Odyssey Retold ("we", "us") is operated by Teilo Berquier from London, United Kingdom. This page explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are. It is written in plain language; the legal effect is intended to be the same.
What we collect
- Your email address, and optionally your first and last name, when you subscribe.
- Technical metadata at the moment of subscription: your IP address (hashed and discarded), the page that referred you, and your browser's user-agent string. This helps us detect spam and abuse.
- Email engagement data from our delivery system: opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes.
Why we collect it
- To deliver the 88-day Odyssey Retold series to your inbox.
- To occasionally send you Notes between seasons — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand which chapters resonate so we can keep improving the series.
Who we share it with
We use the following processors:
- Google (Gmail / Apps Script) — sends the daily emails and stores the subscriber list.
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and stores the encrypted subscriber record.
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your data with advertisers or third parties.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@odysseyretold.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
How long we keep it
We keep your subscriber record for as long as you are subscribed, plus 30 days after you unsubscribe (so we can prove the unsubscribe happened). After that, your record is deleted.
Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies. The site sets no cookies that identify you.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we'll email you before the change takes effect.
